About

Brian Geoffrey Wood was born in Monterey, CA in 1987, the son of African-American Malbour Lee and kiwi Anne Robyn. He grew up in San Diego, and moved to New Zealand in 1999, where he graduated from the Music and Audio Institute of New Zealand in 2008. In 2012 Brian returned to California to pursue his writing career and to be closer to his family roots.

When creating my debut horror series THE ANALYST, I wanted to blend elements of my favorite horror and paranormal stories to make a new series with its own unique voice. I draw from my influences-- Neil Gaiman, Haruki Murakami, Junji Ito, Silent Hill, The X-Files, Twin Peaks, The Ring, and The Grudge to name a handful-- to bring you an expansive setting with an eclectic cast of characters.

DPSD agent Thomas Bell is a truly flawed hero struggling with addiction, accurately-portrayed mental illness and the unique stress from an insane paranormal world. Many of the characters' personal conflicts are based on things that have happened in my own life; I've poured my own blood and guts into every page.

THE ANALYST will take you on a suffocating journey filled with all manner of horrors, whether they be flesh-and-blood monstrosities or crippling personal demons. It's my hope you'll find a story like you've never been told anywhere else.
